​On behalf of the Nevada State Spelling Bee program, we invite you to support our first annual Grown-Up Spelling Bee. This year’s Sip & Spell Event offers a twist on traditional spelling competitions with team costume contests, lightening rounds, and a sudden death match set in a casual bar scene atmosphere to make for a Buzzworthy time! This fun and festive fundraiser will be held at Opportunity Village 6050 S. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas on February 28th from 6 – 9pm.

The Nevada State Spelling Bee’s purpose is to help Nevada students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives. In 2019, approximately 80,000 Nevada students participated in the Nevada State Spelling Bee’s education program, affording 4 Nevada students participation in the 2019 Scripp's National Spelling Bee near Washington, DC. It’s our goal to raise $30,000 to insure Nevada’s continued participation in this incredible program.

We are seeking local businesses and community leaders to sponsor their own teams. Other fun options include sponsoring a round of spelling words during the competition. The benefits of sponsorship are summarized in our Sponsorship Opportunities flyer. The Nevada State Spelling Bee works in partnership with The Public Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The Nevada State Bee relies entirely on grants and sponsorships.
